Dear CAVA Families:
Each year, CAVA invites students in grades 3-8 to participate in our school-wide Spelling Bee. This is a fun and educational event that gives students a chance to develop self-confidence, communication skills, the ability to speak in front of a group, and an opportunity to think under pressure. This year’s Spelling Bee will be held at our Community Day Site in Lodi on Tuesday, December 11th at 11:30 am.
Every child that participates is considered a winner; however, the top speller at each site will advance to a school-wide competition, and our school winner will be invited to participate at the national level in a virtual K12 Spelling Bee.
In the meantime, your child is welcome to start brushing up on his/her spelling skills! While our official word list must be closely guarded until the actual bee, there are many online sites for studying spelling words. A particularly good site to visit is Spell It!, or you are welcome to do a browser search for other study sites.
