VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ

Good morning Cava!

I just wanted to send out an email with some very important things/dates to remember.

PFT – Please be checking on Cava Parent to locate your student’s upcoming PFT. Some of you have already completed this, however, ALL 7^th graders (only) will need to take this. Cava Parent has your student’s site, time, and date. They are all coming up fast so please check!

CST – locations have been assigned to all students. Please be checking Cava Parent for this as well. Please mark on your calendars the date, time, and location for this. Also, please have your student’s prepare for this by going over the CST released questions provided to you in a past email and also have your students continue working on their blue ribbons.

****PLEASE NOTE….NOT EVERY STUDENT HAS THE SAME LOCATION, TIME, AND DATE*****

Work Samples – the end of the quarter is March 29^th (THIS FRIDAY). Thank you to those who have already brought me or sent me your samples. Much appreciated! If you have not sent these, please do so ASAP. Remember, I need ONE lesson for Math, Language (could include the required writing piece), Science, and History. If you are in the Modesto area, I will be at the Barnes and Noble in Modesto today at 5:00pm for the Book Fair. You can bring them there if you’d like. If you’d like to mail them, they need to be in the mail no later than this Wednesday.

Attendance – I wanted to thank those families who have gone back in and updated attendance dated back to March 11^th. GREAT JOB! If attendance is not updated within 3 days of me notifying you, Cava will be sending out non-compliancy letters informing you of what needs to be done. ATTENDANCE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN DAILY! If your student is sick, please let me know so I can make note of that. That being said, if your student has a PFT or an outing they are attending, school work can still be completed.

*****PLEASE NOTE THAT CAVA IS SIMILAR TO A BRICK AND MORTAR SITE, THEREFORE, ATTENDANCE HOURS SHOULD EQUATE TO AT LEAST 4 HOURS A DAY. I’VE NOTICED FAMILIES GIVING 3 MINUTES FOR A WHOLE DAY. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, UNLESS AGAIN, I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AS TO WHY LITTLE TIME HAS BEEN PUT IN. ATTENDANCE WILL BE DELETED AND NOT COUNTED IF PROGRESS IS NOT MADE ON THE ONLINE SCHOOLS.*****

Study Island – This site is a HUGE piece of your student’s grade and therefore, should be worked on daily. Please be using your Blue Ribbon Tracker to keep track of what blue ribbons are assigned each week and those that have not been completed.

***** REMEMBER…..IN ORDER TO EARN AN A IN MATH OR LANGUAGE (FOR THE STUDY ISLAND COMPONENT)….STUDY ISLAND MUST HAVE 75% OF THEIR BLUE RIBBONS THAT QUARTER COMPLETED. **
