Things to remember - OLS Attendance/Progress

Good evening Cava!

I hope you were able to use today to relax and extend your weekend.  Some of you chose to work today and that is wonderful (especially if you’re late entering or behind), however, you must remember that you cannot log attendance for any holidays, weekends, or non-instructional days.  Also, I wanted to remind you that if you try and contact me after my office hours (which are 8:30-4:30pm), you can leave a message/email but just know I will return your messages upon the next school/work day.  Teachers have 24 hours to respond to contacts, however, I am very efficient, and if during school hours, your call/email will be returned fairly shortly.

Attached you will see a powerpoint presentation explaining how teachers look at attendance vs. progress completed on the OLS. Please take a look.  Finally, when entering  attendance, please understand that if your student is putting in the time that IS necessary to do well in this program, they will be putting more than 10 minutes into it.  I’ve had some of that type of logging occurring and I just want to reiterate that while this schooling is online, the hours put in should be similar to the hours your child would be putting into a brick and mortar day.

Thanks so much and of course if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
