Good morning CAVA Families!
I just wanted to confirm a couple of very important tips again to ensure all students are viewing and aware of what is required of them daily offline. I have taken a few snapshots so that you understand where to be looking for daily materials. Please remember that completing JUST your online school is NOT all that is required of you. Also, attendance that consists of about 10 minutes logged is not enough time to complete your online schools.
When you log into your online schools, please click on “plan” and then choose “materials for today” on the dropdown screen.
Click on “materials for today”
You will then see your daily schedule to the left (with subjects) and the materials needed to the right. Click on the blue hyperlinks to see what is required for that day. You’ll notice that some printouts are also in your book. That is then just a preference as to if you’d like to print or use what’s in your book. On most subjects, you’ll see a hyperlink for “student guide”. You will definitely want to look at that as that guide will inform you of what is online and what is to be done offline. Note: some of the hyperlinks can be used as work samples (Just an FYI). J
Here’s an example of an 8th grade “materials for today”
Once you click on a “Student Guide” hyperlink, you’ll get an overview of the entire lesson. You’ll also see what is required online as well as offline. See the example below of a snapshot of a student guide for algebra. Down below you’ll see “offline” in brackets but will also see what is “online” as well.
NOW….I’d like to inform you of how to look at progress and what lessons are being completed versus not completed. I have taken a snapshot of the steps to take to in order to obtain this information.
If you click on the “daily plan” you’ll see all of the subjects for the day. You can also see this on your “things to do” as soon as you log in. You’ll click on each of the subjects which will give you a rundown of how your student is doing in regards to progress.
Click on one of the subjects. For an example, I’ve clicked on Literary Analysis – GUM. You’ll notice tabs for “completed”, “not mastered”, “not completed”, and “skipped”. If you have any lessons that haven’t been mastered, this is more than likely due to an assessment. In order to master an assessment, you have to earn an 80% or more. Please make sure you go back and re-listen to lectures and complete those assessments that were not mastered. Progress will pick up if these are completed with mastery (80% or more). Please make sure you click on the other tabs as well.
I hope this helps. Please look into this so that nothing is being missed. If your student is not on progress, any of the above reasons may have something to do with it.
