K¹²Clubs – Would your student like to participate in a K¹² Club? So far, approximately 15,000 students across the country have already joined in on the fun! Clubs cover a wide variety of topics and are targeted at specific ages and grade levels, so there’s something for everyone! This year in the Winterland Celebration Competition, K¹² wanted to see your creative expressions of what winter means to you – and you delivered! K¹² received many wonderful essays and gingerbread house entries from students across the country. Judges had their work cut out for them! However, winners have now been named, and we invite you to celebrate the creative spirit of all K¹² students. Take a look at all of the entries received, including those from our winners, in our online gallery. K¹² thanks all of the students who participated and brought us into their world of winter!

Wanted: Outings Photos – Did you attend a fun outing or other CAVA event? Please send your photos to Cynthia Tkalec at ctkalec@caliva.org or post directly to our CAVA Facebook page at www.k12.com/cavafb! Please also pass the photos along to the homeroom teacher so they can be displayed in the next Monday Homeroom session. Kids love to see themselves on the screen, so let’s show some school spirit and let them see all the fun things we have going on! Remember, a signed photo release must be on file with the homeroom teacher for a photo to be displayed.

National School Choice Week

National School Choice Week http://www.schoolchoiceweek.com/ (Jan. 27-Feb. 2) This event brings an unprecedented level of public awareness to school choice, demonstrating to the nation that the school choice movement is large and diverse. With thousands of positive, upbeat events happening across the country during National School Choice Week, the celebration allows millions of Americans to learn more about the benefits of school choice. By truly engaging the grassroots, National School Choice Week helps build a broad, bipartisan, and unique coalition for educational change – one person and one community at a time.

In what is sure to become an annual CAVA celebration, activities include 30 different in-person events across the state, an all-school virtual assembly, and fun Facebook activities each day. We are honored to be the school of choice for all of our CAVA Families, and are thrilled to have had the chance to celebrate with you!
