Hello Wonderful CAVA Families,
It is very important that you read through this newsletter as it contains important information, updates, required tasks, student recognition, progress information, helpful how-to documents, etc.
ð Work Samples
Please note when quarter dates are.
ð Assignment Sheet Update
Math Semester assessments are due 1/17/2012. (this was changed due to our rocky technology start and knew students wouldn’t be there at this point).
ð Scantron Assessment
If your student has not completed the Scantron assessment in Reading and Math, I will be contacting you to set up an in-person testing session this week.
ð Study Island
You may have noticed that students have two assessments in Study Island – one in Reading and one in Math. These were added by CAVA Admin. Students must complete these assessments so we can have more data on interventions and instruction for our students.
Additionally, please note that Study Island is NOT AN OPTIONAL program. CAVA requires all students to work in Study Island. Please follow the Study Island Blue Ribbon Tracker found on https://drive.google.com/?authuser=0#folders/0B4KaTsBoaLtAaHk3Zkd6RUpPMmc and it has been emailed to you as well. If you need a copy, I can email it out again.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Students must earn Blue Ribbons in TEST MODE. Blue Ribbons will not count if the student earned a Blue Ribbon in Game Mode. To earn Blue Ribbons, you must be in test mode and answer at least 10 questions.
ð Attendance & Progress
Attendance should be marked daily with comparable progress. If progress is not increasing, I will be contacting you to ask for samples the student has completed outside of the online school.
ð Parent & Student Handbook
Please mail your signed acknowledgement page showing you have read and understand the information contained in the Parent/Student Handbook. If you already have, please disregard.
Thank you,
Christie Louis 6-8 Teacher 2360 Shasta Way Unit A |
